Accessory designer Shaindy Backer, has been around fashion since a young age.  With a love for designing, she chose hair accessories, because “it’s the piece of fashion that people see first, and you can express yourself in so many ways”!  With FIT in her past, she designed an accessory line consisting of headbands made with semi-precious stones and handmade beads.  This line was picked up by well known boutiques across the US. The store Ikram, in Chicago, bought her entire line, when it was only a month old.  Henri Bendel continued to order in the first year as well. After a year and a half in the industry, Shaindy started a new line, called SBNY. 


SBNY features all handmade pieces in a full range of beautiful colors and styles. The skilled designers use a variety of fine materials to create a collection that is unique, fashionable and affordable.


SBNY’S company grew rapidly, selling over 22,000 pieces in its first year of operation. The headbands are sold in countries all over the world such as; US, Canada, Japan, and Kuwait.
